SUMMARY:

Establishes, coordinates, and maintains an accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of the financial institutions, and provides financial consolidation of branches or subsidiaries. Specific areas include the development and maintenance of planning and budget systems, analysis and interpretation of trends requiring management’s attention, the preparation of financial and management reports and procedures and the presentation of findings and specific recommendations to senior management. Directs and coordinates the operations of the general ledger, accounts payable, financial reporting and taxation areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

  • Provide support to the Chief Financial Officer of the Bancorp in managing the financial operations of the corporation.
  • Prepare and direct the preparation of reports that summarize and forecast the Bank’s business activity and financial position.
  • Prepare and directs the preparation of annual and interim financial statements as required by current accounting and regulatory guidelines.
  • Enforce, define, and establish accounting policies and procedures per generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Prepare quarterly and annual regulatory reports for FDIC, Federal Reserve Bank, and Commissioner of Banks. Assist in the preparation of budgets.
  • Maintain and update the Banks’ asset/liability models and documentation.
  • Act as liaison to external auditors and internal auditors with regard to financial reporting.
  • Oversee the daily cash position of the Banks, federal funds position, repurchase agreements balances and correspondent collateral balances.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors in Accounting/Finance
  • CPA helpful.
  • At least 5 years of experience including experience in financial reporting, budgeting, cost accounting, general accounting and regulatory reporting.
  • Prior experience as a controller or assistant controller of a financial institution

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Excellent and proven knowledge of and the ability to accurately apply generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Proficient in using and learning accounting software.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer operations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with executives, managers, employees and vendors.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret financial reports, statements and related legal documents.
  • Ability to attend meetings or perform other assignments at locations outside of the office, if necessary.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to handle sensitive materials and maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to shift attention quickly and accurately from one matter to another.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and complete them on time.

    ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT/OPERATIONS

    Butler Bank is looking for an Assistant Vice President/Operations to join our team.

    Requirements:

  • The position requires at least five years of banking experience with depth in at least two of the above areas.

    EXPERIENCED MORTGAGE LOAN ORIGINATORS

    Butler Bank is seeking self-motivated team players with strong sales skills to originate residential mortgage loans in Essex County with particular attention in Andover-Burlington, MA. area and Southern New Hampshire.

    Two years of origination experience, currently working in the territory, ability to develop business and build long-term relationships with area brokers and builders preferred. Bank has developed portfolio products and sub-prime investors to take advantage of every situation in lending community. In addition an understanding of mortgage lending and secondary market guidelines a plus.

    CONSTRUCTION LOAN SALES SPECIALISTS, MA., NH, Southern ME

    Exciting position working as a Construction Loan Sales Specialist. Sales experience preferred. Construction and/or Lending background preferred. You will be trained for this position.
